FP, today there was a caller that had lost all interest in the NBA after being robbed of the chance at a title run back in '01. You quickly jumped in with the usual "get over it" and "move on"; but you're missing the big picture. That caller was over the robbery and loss to Lakers. That series however revealed the true colors behind the NBA and it's clear influence on the outcome of games the total sell out to the network ratings. Forget the King's loss, no problem, get excited about NBA basketball knowing it is rigged for the NBA ratings, sorry, can't do it. I thought you were right about the NBA isolatin game and the me first approach to basketball. Several days ago I heard Mike and Grant describing what took place at Al Davis' press conference. The were very careful to kiss Al Davis' butt & mention how "professional" he looked at the podium. Hey I'm not down on the Kings, but the most successful basketball team in town is the Monarhcs. They have a title, another trip to the finals, and 6 straight years in the playoffs. I love the Kings, but at least acknowledge that the Monarchs are legit. They are run well, coached well, play hard, and quite honestly have been a model franchise for the WNBA. Go Kings and Go Monarchs. I am not asking you to love them, just don't hate on them. They are proven winners.

i belive that KHTK is contractually obligated to broadcast Monarchs games. It is very obvious if you've ever seen attendance at a WNBA game that their league is suopported by the NBA. KHTK being affiliated with the kings obligates them to also carry the Monarchs as well, so unfortunately there is no way around it.

The Rise Guys are just as the rest of the local doofs on this show! The only good shows on this channel that make this radio station any money are Jim Rome and The Mike O'Meara Show. Really the rest of the line-up should be dumped at once. KHTK can take a few pointers from KNBR 680 or ESPN Radio. That is where I am at when Rome and the Mike O Show are not on. Oh and agreed the Butch Basketball League or the WNBA for short, is an abortion of a professional sport!

KHTK Management, With the exception of the Rise Guys, the local programming on KHTK is horrible. From Napier to Carmichael Dave, the programming is embarassing. Is there really that small of a talent pool to draw from? And the Monarchs? Really? I'd love to see the ratings for a WNBA broadcast in Sacramento. Yes it's hard to believe that the NBA would conspire to extend a series, that Stearn and the three officials would be lying about never doing something like that, but it was also hard to believe that Jose Canseco was telling the truth about steroids in baseball. But somehow this guy who had nothing to gain but a quick buck off a buck for this turned out to be truthful. So why can't we consider Tim Donaughy possibly truthful? The evidence is their. You can pretty much dismiss what anybody affiliated with the NBA has to say because they just want to protect the "integrity" (or lack their of of the game.) All i'm saying is that anybody who watched that game that night or who knows anything about basketball knows that their was something terribly wrong going on inside the Staples Center. Do I think that it will ever get proven and one of these officials or top league officials will fess up? No. But real basketball fans know the truth...

i love jim's show saturdays, but other times when i tune in (like right now), i wonder: "WHERE ARE THE SPORTS?" i also cannot stand hearing women reporting real sports news (i.e.; the fox sports updates)and, no, i'm not a chauvinstic pig. i'm a woman myself. women are fine for pretend sports like WNBA, but for REAL sports, i want my news to come from men.

I think Jason Ross is really good too. He should be used a lot more. I heard him do a Kings game this year and he was really good at play by play. I wish he did more games. I don't like Coach T. though!

dan patrick is also still controlled by ESPN which is owned by Disney. He's subject to their censorship and rules, whereas Rome, and The Mike Show (along with the rest of the KHTK lineup) is not. I can't believe he called the newspaper (Sac Bee) about an article he didn't agree with. Kevin, you just signed a $55 million dollar contract and you can't let things roll off your back. He is one of the best announcers this station and city have ever seen. How he has not been picked up by ESPN, NBC, ABC, or CBS is beyond me.

The Dan Patrick show isn't even live. If KHTK were to carry the D.P. show live, they would have to take Rome of the air. Taped Delayed shows in the middle of the day are horrible.

I'm all for the new arena at Cal Expo. I think it will be a wonderful place for an arena and also it will boost the economy. I was listening to the Grant and Mike Show on Friday and I was listening to a caller talking about the traffic. i like Grant's point on the traffic. i been attending sporting events for years and traffic has always been an issue now matter how minimal or great.There is no way around traffic to sporting events ,concerts,etc.I love grant and Mike's show. They have an exceptional knowledge of sports and good insights. They are great. Keep up the good work and thanks.

I find Grant & Mike's slobbering, pandering, unobjective, pushing of this new arena disgusting. To add insult to injury they then have the nerve to insinuate that Sacramento listeners are dumb. I am a huge Kings fan and want a new arena, but I think that these two are the absolute worst panderers. Why are they incapable of being objective on this issue? None of the other local hosts have this problem. This is an example of Grant's conflict of interest in this job. It makes me sick.

He is just pompous. The way he frames every conversation around a million questions which he then answers for himself, I find very annoying. I don't like Grant much either. I think there is a real conflict of interest between his Kings job and having a radio station. He is not able to be objective. I say move Koz into that spot.
